Whether she's watching the weather for the next sunny day or relaxing on her screened-in porch with a view of the nature preserve, Maureen is all about balance, connection, and making every client feel supported. Let’s get to know her a little better.
The Agency: What excites you about real estate and what are your some of your best qualities as an agent?
Maureen: I love seeing new inventory come on the market and spreading the word. There is nothing better then calling your clients and telling them what was just listed or just sold! I would say one of my best qualities as an agent is my responsiveness. When people are buying and selling a home it can be very emotional and can result in many questions. I like people to know I am there for them and and they feel supported.
The Agency: What drew you to real estate, and how long have you been in the industry?
Maureen: I moved from Bayonne, NJ a small city just outside New York City to Sugar Land Texas when I was 13. My mind was blown at the different ways people lived. I continued to move - back to NJ, Pennsylvania and now South Carolina. The style of the homes, necessary elements that make them appealing and the history behind the homes intrigue me. Homes ultimately tell a story and I love to hear them and find their next match!
The Agency: How would you describe your approach to helping clients find their perfect home?
Maureen: I pride myself on being a good listener and discovering what buyers are looking for. It can be very easy and tempting as an agent to impose your opinion instead of giving guidance to your clients. When people feel heard, it makes them relax and enjoy the process.
The Agency: What’s your favorite room or feature in your own home, and why?
Maureen: My favorite spot in my entire home is my screened in porch. I start my day there and end my day there. It is a beautiful space overlooking a nature preserve and being out there allows be to check out for a bit...relax and be grateful for all that I have.
The Agency: What’s one tip for making a house feel like “home” right after moving in?
Maureen: I think fresh flowers always make people smile. No matter the time of year - fresh flowers make a house feel like a home!
The Agency: If you could live in any fictional home (from a movie, book, etc.), where would you pick and why?
Maureen: My absolute favorite home would have to be "Tara" from Gone with the Wind. Otherwise know as Twelve Oaks Mansion, is now run as a bed and breakfast. I would love to stay there someday!
The Agency: What’s your favorite local restaurant, and what’s your go-to order?
Maureen: My favorite local restaurant is absolutely The Bluffton Room. I love to sit at the bar, favorite burger by far and a glass of Sancerre! The atmosphere and service are always fantastic.
The Agency: What’s one app on your phone you can’t live without?
Maureen: The weather app! I am always looking for sunshine and I like to be prepared for any rain or storms!
