Hilton Head Island
Fish and Grits Music Festival
Saturday, October 3 | 12:00 PM | Lowcountry Celebration Park
This family-friendly celebration of Gullah Geechee food and music brings together live performances, traditional cuisine, and arts and crafts vendors. It's a great way to start the month.
Jeep Island
Friday, October 9 – Saturday, October 10 | Multiple Venues
The island's Jeep festival kicks off Friday evening with a meet-and-greet from 5 to 7 PM at Lincoln and South Brewing Company. The main event follows Saturday from 12 to 3 PM at Lowcountry Celebration Park, with an after-party from 3 to 7 PM at The Bank.
Italian Heritage Festival
Saturday, October 17 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn
Italian food, live entertainment, and a silent auction come together with grape stomping and pizza-eating contests. It's a fun, hands-on day for the whole family.
Gullah Food Festival
Saturday, October 17 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island
A day devoted to local Gullah cuisine and entertainment, held the same day as the Italian Heritage Festival. Pick one, or find time for both.
Pumpkin Patch
Friday, October 23 | 4:00 – 7:00 PM | Shelter Cove Community Park
This free community favorite, hosted by the Island Recreation Association, features pumpkins, games, children's activities, and a Halloween costume contest.
Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival
Friday, October 30 – Sunday, November 1 | Port Royal Golf Club
The month closes with the island's biggest motoring weekend: the Lowcountry Driving Tour, a Taylor Hicks benefit concert, the Car Club Showcase, and a Sunday Concours with more than 200 rare vehicles. [Read our full guide to Concours weekend.]
Bluffton
Bluffton Music Series
Friday, October 2 | 5:30 – 7:30 PM | Buckwalter Place Park Amphitheater
Free live music from Folderol, with food trucks and beer and wine for purchase. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and your dog is welcome.
Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival
Friday, October 9 – Sunday, October 18 | Old Town Bluffton
Now in its 22nd year, this award-winning festival celebrates locally harvested seafood, Lowcountry cuisine, and the area's history and culture across ten days of events. Highlights include the Wild-Caught Lowcountry Boil on Friday, October 16, and the Street Fest and Juried Fine Art Show on October 17 and 18, with more than 100 artists, food, and live music along Calhoun Street.
Bluffton Safety Spooktacular

A free family event hosted by the Town of Bluffton and the Bluffton Police Department, now in its sixth year.
Beaufort & Port Royal
Beaufort Shrimp Festival
