About Marian Schaffer

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Marian began her professional career as a financial advisor, with a national investment firm in downtown Chicago and later in the prominent enclave of Lake Forest, Illinois. With an impressive tenure spanning 11 years in finance, Marian gracefully transitioned, taking a sabbatical to become a full-time homemaker during the formative years of her sons, Nick and Luke.

 

In 2004, Marian founded SoutheastDiscovery.com, a web portal catering to the discerning tastes of those seeking retirement and second home sanctuaries in the picturesque landscapes of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Her tenure at the helm of SoutheastDiscovery.com gave her a strong knowledge base of the real estate markets of the Southeast, fostering long-term relationships within the industry and a strong understanding of the exclusive master-planned communities that dot the five-state region.

 

In 2015, Marian and her husband made the decision to relocate to the Lowcountry, specifically Bluffton. With a career marked by an impressive number of successful client referrals to the Lowcountry, the allure of its serene landscapes and vibrant community finally beckoned Marian and her husband to call it home. Over the past nine years, Marian's home in Bluffton has served as a canvas for her unwavering passion for luxury Lowcountry living, as evidenced by the meticulous construction of three personal residences in Palmetto Bluff, each crafted to perfection in collaboration with a local architect and builder.

 

Through this journey and the connections made, Marian has guided numerous clients through the detailed process of acquiring attractive homesites, overseeing the construction of their dream homes, or coordinating the transformation of existing older homes into updated, current décor properties, resulting in a real estate portfolio exceeding $100 million in transactions.
